The short version
- Uninstalled items
- 7 days for a full refund or exchange, with your receipt, as long as they haven't been mounted or used.
- Installed tires
- Not returnable once we mount them — but they're covered by our defect guarantee below.
- Defect guarantee
- 30 days. If a used tire we sold you fails from something we should have caught, we replace it or refund it.
- Road hazard
- Not covered. Nails, curbs and potholes are the road's fault, not the tire's.
- Online bookings
- Nothing is charged online, so cancelling a reservation or an appointment costs you nothing.
Uninstalled tires, wheels and parts
Bought something and changed your mind? Bring it back within 7 days and we'll refund it in full or swap it for something that fits. We just need it back the way it left:
- Not mounted, not driven on, no curb marks or new damage.
- Wheels still free of scuffs from a mounting machine.
- Your receipt, or the phone number the sale was rung up under — we can look it up.
Mounting a tire changes it. The bead gets stretched over a rim and the tread picks up the road, which is why the clock stops the moment it goes on a wheel — not the moment you drive away.
Once it's on the car
A tire we've mounted and balanced isn't returnable for a change of mind. What we do stand behind is our work and the condition of what we sold you:
- Balance and vibration: if it shakes, bring it back within 30 days and we'll re-balance it at no charge.
- Leaks at the bead or valve stem from our install: we fix it, free.
- Wrong size or wrong fitment on us: we make it right, free.
Our defect guarantee on used tires
Every used tire we sell gets inspected — inside and out — before it goes on the rack. We check the sidewalls, the bead, the inner liner and any previous repairs, and we read the DOT date so you know how old it is.
We're good at it, and we're not perfect. If a tire we sold you fails within 30 days because of something that was already wrong with it — a hidden belt separation, a bad plug from a previous owner, a sidewall bulge we missed — bring it in. We'll replace it with a comparable tire or refund what you paid, your choice. Mounting on the replacement is on us.
What isn't covered
Used tires are sold on their condition at the time of sale. Not covered:
- Road hazard — nails, screws, glass, potholes, curb strikes, blowouts from impact.
- Normal tread wear. A used tire has a shorter life than a new one; that's what the tread depth on your receipt is telling you.
- Damage from running underinflated, overloading, or a mechanical problem on the vehicle (bad alignment, worn shocks, a seized caliper).
- Tires mounted somewhere other than our shop.
- Cosmetic marks on used wheels — we point those out at the counter before you buy.
If you want road-hazard protection, ask us about a new tire — most new tires carry a manufacturer road-hazard program.
New tires and parts
New tires carry the manufacturer's warranty, which is usually better than anything we could offer on our own — treadwear mileage, workmanship and materials, sometimes road hazard. We'll help you file it. Keep your receipt; the warranty is tied to the purchase date.
Used parts follow the same 7-day, uninstalled rule above. Anything we special-order for your vehicle is non-returnable once it's ordered — we'll tell you that at the counter before we place the order, not after.
Online reservations and appointments
We don't take payment on this website. When you reserve a tire or book a service time, nothing is charged — you pay at the counter when the work is done. So:
- Cancelling a reservation costs nothing. Call us or just don't come; we'll put the tire back on the rack.
- Cancelling or moving an appointment costs nothing. Give us a call so somebody else can have the bay.
- Nothing we hold for you is charged to a card, because we never took one.
The one exception is our mobile delivery-and-install service, which is paid up front because we're sending a truck. Cancel at least 24 hours before your window for a full refund.
How to start a return
Easiest thing in the world:
- Call us at (618) 332-8488 (ext. 1 for tires) and tell us what happened, or email sales@mmautotires.com.
- Bring the item and your receipt to the shop during business hours. If it's on the car, bring the car — we'd rather look at it than guess.
- We'll sort it at the counter. No forms, no return authorization number, no waiting on an email.
Refunds
Refunds go back the way you paid. Cash comes back as cash. A card refund goes to the same card and usually shows up in 3–5 business days, depending on your bank — that part is out of our hands once we process it.
Mounting, balancing and disposal fees already performed aren't refundable, since that work was done. If the reason for the return is our mistake, they are — we're not going to charge you for fixing our own error.
Questions about this policy?
Talk to us — we'd rather sort it out than have you guess.
